Outwitting the Adversary

Preview: God has given us great power to overcome our enemies. 


Scripture Reading: Luke 10:17-24. 

Memory Verse: I John 4:4. 

1. Does Jesus expect His followers to be subject to devils? How are His followers protected? Luke 10:19. 
2. Was this adversary subject to the disciples in the days of Christ? To whom did they give thanks? Luke 10:17. 
3. Should we rejoice that the spirits are subject unto us? What should we rejoice? Luke 10:20. 
4. To whom is Christ willing to reveal those things? Luke 10:21. 
5. Has Christ given power to the Church to outwit the adversary? Matthew 16:19. 
6. How only may the saints of God have the power to outwit the adversary? Discuss. I John 4:4. 
7. Who was Paul subject to, and did Paul claim any credit? Galatians 2:20. 
8. How much can we do with the help of Christ? Philippians 4:13. 
Note: God does not expect us to be subject to the Devil nor to give place to him. The Lord has promised us power to overcome the world, therefore, let us put our faith and dependence in God when the tempter comes to overthrow us.

10. How did the Israelites tempt God and turn back in the days of Moses? Psalm 78:36-41. 
11. Are we wrestling with flesh and blood, or against spiritual wickedness? Discuss. Ephesians 6:12.

13. What should our sword be composed of? Ephesians 6:17. 
14. How powerful is the sword of the Spirit? Hebrews 4:12. 
15. Is there any creature tempting God’s children that is not seen by God? Hebrews 4:13. 
16. How can we prevent the Devil from having a place in our hearts? Ephesians 4:25-27. 
Note: The Bible is true and cannot fail. Since Jesus has given us power over all the powers of the enemy we can outwit the adversary. Let us put our dependence in God. If God is for us who can be against us?
