How to Overcome Sin

Preview: The goal of every Christian should be to overcome sin in their lives. This is a task that requires all of our concentration, effort and diligence to achieve. We must be ever vigilant and watchful that sin cannot overtake us and pull us from the path of the Lord. The reward for this hard work is worth every effort.

1. Who alone overcomes the world? I John 5:5.
2. Through what is the victory gained in the work of overcoming the world? I John 5:4.
3. Through whom do we obtain the victory? I Corinthians 15:57.
4. With what does the Apostle Paul tell us to overcome evil? Romans 12:21.
Note: Sometimes we feel that it would be easier to repay evil with evil, but let’s remember this verse; we must overcome evil with good.
5. In whose victory may we ever rejoice and take courage? John 16:33.
6. How will the saints overcome the enemy? Revelation 12:11.
7. What promise do we have if we overcome sin? Revelation 2:7, Revelation 2:11, Revelation 2:17 & Revelation 2:26.

Note: We cannot overcome sin without letting God be in complete control of our lives.
