Is Tithing Important for Today?

Preview: Tithing in support of the ministry of God is a requirement of God’s Church. Our job is to spread the Word, and all members should contribute to funding that worthy goal. 


Scripture Reading: Psalm 50:1-23.

5. How are ministers and Gospel workers commanded pay their tithes? Numbers 18:26.

8. To whom did Abraham pay tithes? Hebrews 7:2 & Hebrews 7:6. 
9. What is neglected when tithes are withheld? Nehemiah 13:10. 
10. How did Nehemiah rebuke the rulers when they failed to support God’s work with their tithes? Nehemiah 13:11. 
11. Why do you think we are we obligated to pay tithes today? Matthew 23:23.
Note: The Lord told the scribes and Pharisees that they should have taken care of the more important matters, and paid their tithes too. We are to pay our tithes for the support of God’s workers. This is the system that God Almighty set up for mankind, and we cannot improve it. Have mercy, faith, and judgment, but do not neglect to pay your tithes.

Note: God is being robbed by those who withhold their offerings and their tithes. The Lord challenges us to prove Him and try Him out. Are you willing to give Him a trial and receive the blessings He has in store for the obedient?
